Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Counselor Aide to work an On Call, Overnight schedule, at our Syracuse Inpatient Program.

 

The On-Call colleague will need to be available for either Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday from 12:30am - 8:00am. Weekend and Holiday coverage is required.

 

Pay Rate: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour while working on-site with a minimum payout of 4 hours worked even if you work less than that while providing on-call work.

 

Additional Pay: This position will receive a $75 daily rate for the days they are on call (this rate is paid regardless of whether they are called in). The daily rate is paid in addition to the pay rate from hours worked on-site. Shifts added outside of the regular 5-day work schedule will just receive the hourly rate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the following counseling responsibilities: screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis response, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping, and consultation with other professionals. 
  • Participates in program administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
  • Represents the agency to the community.
  • Performs quality assurance activities. 
  • Displays knowledge of addiction/recovery and/or behavioral health self-help group processes and principles of counseling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Customer service and/or human services experience preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License, based on service settings.
  • Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are welcome to apply.
