Overview

Helio Health is seeking experienced Mental Health/SUD Therapists for our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) in Syracuse, NY to work on a Per Diem basis. The Licensed Counselor/Therapist will provide urgent response and/or treatment services to patients experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis. 

 

Pay Rate: $30.44 - $33.82 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
  • Perform essential counseling/therapist responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.
  • Provide evidenced-based counseling. 
  • Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services.
  • Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned.   
  • Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio staff and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid professional License (including but not limited to LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, RN, NP, etc.) or Credential (including but not limited to CASAC, CPP, CPS etc.)
    • Limited Permit (LP) Licenses are acceptable.
  • One year experience working as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor.
  • Two years’ experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation ranges are provided in accordance with NYS law and are based on Helio Health's good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting. Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
