Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Counselor/Clinician to work Full-Time providing counseling to patients at our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

 

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Licensed Counselors have the choice to work in their preferred clinical setting within the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The following service lines have openings: Adult Services, Child & Adolescent Services, School-Based Services, Trauma-informed Dual Recovery Program, or our Open Access Program. Our Open Access department provides opportunities to help people in that exact moment they need support. This department is open 24/7 and provides competitive hourly wages for day, evening, and overnight shifts

 

Counselors are eligible to participate in Loan Forgiveness Programs and are eligible for Overtime Pay! Additionally, Hybrid Work schedules to perform therapy in the office and remote, along with modified work schedules are available for eligible service lines.

 

All Full-Time, Licensed Counselors/Therapists are eligible for up to a Sign-On incentive up to $8,000 depending upon licensure/credentials!

 

Pay: $25.96 - $32.94 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • To support the mission of Helio Health, the Mental Health Counselor will meet the behavioral health, addiction, and/or substance use needs of patients in our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). 
  • Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
  • Perform essential counseling/therapy responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.
  • Provide evidenced-based individual, family, group, and couples counseling. 
  • Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services.
  • Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned.   
  • Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio staff and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid professional License (including but not limited to LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, RN, NP, etc.) or Credential (including but not limited to CASAC, CPP, CPS etc.)
    • Limited Permit (LP) Licenses are acceptable
  • Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation
  • Two years’ experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred, bachelor's degree required.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation ranges are provided in accordance with NYS law and are based on Helio Health's good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting. Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
